South Carolina Future Minds promotes innovation for excellence in public education by equipping and advocating for educators as they prepare South Carolina students to thrive in a global community.

South Carolina Future Minds strengthens South Carolina's kids by harnessing the power of private charitable donations for K-12 public education statewide.

Since 1995, South Carolina Future Minds has focused on hosting South Carolina's nationally recognized Teacher of the Year program. In 2008, guided by the vision of state Superintendent of Education Jim Rex, the foundation dramatically expanded its role. Today, South Carolina Future Minds serves as the main charitable vehicle for those wishing to improve the lives of the 700,000 children in South Carolina's public schools.

South Carolina Future Minds does this by:


1)    Organizing efforts to recruit, retain and support great teachers.
2)    Serving as a resource and initiator for other local education foundations supporting public schools in South Carolina.
3)    Operating as the conduit for private gifts designed to support projects endorsed by the state Department of Education
